Medical Grade Peels
Facial peels treat sun-damaged skin by exfoliating dead cells so that healthy new ones can
replace them. There are three types of chemical peels, based on the strength of the ingredients applied to
the skin — light (superficial), medium and deep.
The Vitalize Peel® The Vitalize Peel® uses alpha hydroxy acids to improve skin tone and
texture on all skin types, lessen fine lines, fade age spots and freckles, reduce acne related hyperpigmentation. A series of treatments is recommended. Each session takes about 30 minutes with minimal downtime. Side effects including mild redness and 2 to 3 days of flaking.
The Illuminize Peel™ The Illuminize Peel™ is a light treatment that gently penetrates the uppermost
layer of the skin to reduce aging, sun damage, unclog pores, and produce a healthy glow. Little or no visible peeling that tightens skin and
restores a more youthful appearance.
The Micro Peel® The Micro Peel® is a safe and effective procedure that can be customized to meet
the needs of all skin types. This unique 3-step process starts with dermaplaning or using a pure enzyme to remove the dead cellular
layers. Next, an AHA solution is applied to the skin to help free pores of impacted debris. Finally, Cryogenic Therapy is
performed to help relieve inflammation and cool the skin.
The Micro Peel® Plus The Micro Peel® Plus is a superficial in office peel. Salicylic Acid
is a beta hydroxyl peel peel that is found in many home care acne products. The benefit of salicylic acid is its fat
solubility and helps to diminish excessive oil production. This in office procedure also helps to smooth fine lines
and wrinkles, eliminate irritating acne, clogged pores, and sun damaged skin.
Chemical Peel (TCA) (Obagi Blue Peel®) The Chemical Peel (TCA) (Obagi Blue Peel®) is a common treatment used for medium
to deep peels. It can be used for all skin types and is highly effective for fine lines and wrinkles, as well as sun-damaged skin.
The depth of penetration of the TCA peel varies depending on the concentration and amount of solution applied. It can therefore be
used as a mild, moderate, or deep peel. In general, TCA peels tend to peel deeper than AHA peels. The recovery time depends on the
depth of the peel. The deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time. The healing time is usually five to ten days.
The Blue Peel, marked by Obagi is a TCA peel.
